Edwards-Johnson Memorial Silsbee Middle School is located at 1140 Hwy 327 East and houses grades 6, 7, and 8.

Edwards-Johnson Memorial Silsbee Middle School, which is aligned to the high school and serves as a bridge between elementary school and high school-the bridge between childhood and young adulthood. By aligning the middle school with high school, students in grades 6 through 8 are better prepared for their high school experience. These students are served in an educational program designed to capture interest, develop learning skills, improve academic achievement and enhance the self-concept. In addition to the basic courses offered-elective courses in computer literacy, band, choir and art are available. Students have a variety of ways to explore their academic and leadership skills including inclusive participation in all sports and extra-curricular activities-8 different athletic teams, 14 academic competition teams, 8 community awareness activities, as well as clubs.

The mission of Edwards-Johnson Memorial Silsbee Middle School is to nurture an environment where every individual reaches a high level of measurable academic achievement, and that encourages positive individual and social development.

  • Close the gap between the Minority and Majority Learner.
  • Manage our students’ awareness of the value of various cultures in our school.
  • Decrease the retention rate of students.
  • Increase attendance for all students.
