Notes from the nurse
Parents, head lice tends to be more prevalent in the late fall and spring. Parents are encouraged to periodically check their children's head for lice and nits. There are measures that you as a parent can take to help lessen the chances of your child contracting head lice.
• ask your child to avoid head-to-head contact with classmates during play and other activities.
• instruct your child not to share personal belongings such as hats, scarves, coats, combs, brushes, hair accessories and headphones.
• wash commonly used items. (ex. Jackets, hats, scarves and hoodies) if lice or nits are found prompt treatment and nit removal is required prior to the student returning to school.
