Media Credential Requests

For Game Day

All media requests must be submitted via email to kelsey.johnson@silsbeeisd.org prior to Game Day. Please note that a request does not automatically result in approval.

The Silsbee ISD Athletics Department is committed to providing comprehensive and welcoming services to the media covering our athletic events. We appreciate the positive attention and support you provide to our school and athletes through your coverage. By accepting a media pass to a Silsbee ISD athletic event, you agree to adhere to the media guidelines set forth by Silsbee ISD.

Media Credentials

Credential requests will be accepted for writers, photographers, and videographers representing professional media outlets, including newspapers, television stations, radio, websites, and magazines. To qualify for a Silsbee Athletics Media Credential, the media outlet must demonstrate that it:

  • Has previously covered Silsbee ISD games with content beyond social media (Twitter, YouTube, etc.).

  • Is not associated with recruiting sites or focused solely on game highlights or video production for individual players (this will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis).

  • Media outlets that have not covered Silsbee ISD events in the past must show they produce regularly updated content from similar events that extends beyond social media.

Limiting Multiple Requests: To ensure safe and fair access to the sidelines and press box, Silsbee ISD Communications and the Silsbee ISD Athletics Department reserve the right to limit the number of credentials issued to the same media outlet.

Media Credential Denials

Credentials will not be issued to:

  • Personal website publishers.

  • Personal photographers (with exceptions for approved freelance work on behalf of recognized media outlets)

  • Sites that do not consistently produce original content on a daily basis.

  • Recruiting-related organizations or outlets focused on individual player promotion or highlight videos.

  • Any website that does not align with the mission and values of Silsbee ISD or is deemed inappropriate.

Requesting a Sideline Pass

We have added an extra step to strengthen safety on the sidelines. All media members who plan to be on the sidelines will need to be cleared through our Raptor System before home games.

Here’s how it works:

  • All media personnel requesting a sideline pass MUST be cleared through Raptor:

    • Stop by the Silsbee High School front office before 2:30 p.m. on game days (Silsbee Home Games) with your driver’s license. Office staff will run your ID through the system and issue your sideline pass. Once you’re in the system, for future games you’ll only need to let me know which games you’ll be covering.

    • If you can’t get to campus ahead of time, please email Cayla Ford at cayla.ford@silsbeeisd.org. Provide your media organization, driver’s license number, date of birth and which game you will be covering. Once cleared and approved, a sideline pass will be available for you at the Visitor Side gate on game day.

Important note: If you do not have a Silsbee ISD–issued pass, you will not be allowed on the sidelines. Media who wish to shoot from the stands do not need a sideline pass, just show your organization’s credentials at the gate to get in free.

Media Access and Guidelines

Credentials will specify access to designated areas, and all media personnel must remain outside the team box on the sideline during games.

Please treat our staff, who check your credentials, with respect.

Other guidelines include:

  • Media personnel may not access locker rooms or other private player/coach areas.

  • Media personnel must follow instructions from district/school administration as well as the officiating crew.

  • Credentials issued by Silsbee ISD are only recognized at district facilities.

  • All media personnel (print, social, broadcast, and photographers) must wear their media credential at all times when on the sidelines.

Silsbee ISD reserves the right to deny or revoke credentials for failure to comply with these guidelines.

Photography

The use of electronic flash photography equipment is prohibited during athletic events.

Filming

Live filming or recording of entire games is not permitted. Video footage should only be used for highlight purposes.
