Fever Free Policy
The Silsbee Independent School District policy pertaining to a child with a temperature of 100 degrees or above requires that a parent/guardian be notified and the child be sent home from school.
For example, if your child has a fever 100 degrees or higher, he or she must stay out of school until fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medications. This policy is in the best interests of the child as well as the well being of the children who need not be exposed to possible communicable illness. A child who is not well cannot learn to his/her full potential.
