Silsbee High School has been designated as an Early College High School by the Texas Education Agency, a designation that began in the 2016-17 school year.
Silsbee Independent School District strives to give its students the opportunity to be involved in academics and extra-curriculum activities. Now with Silsbee Early College High School – first-generation, low income, at-risk and other underrepresented students will have that opportunity to obtain a high school diploma and two years of transferable college credit hours tuition-free.
The aim for Early College High Schools is to incorporate high school and college curriculums concurrently to give students the opportunity to earn up to 60 college credit hours while attending high school.
Early College School makes higher education more accessible with no cost to the students that may not have that opportunity. It helps the students become more acclimated in the higher education environment while reducing barriers that prevent college access.
The curricula at Silsbee Early College offers rigorous instruction and accelerated courses increasing college readiness as well as providing academic and social support services to the students towards their success.
We are a proud partner with Lamar Institute of Technology, committed to helping our students become academically successful.
