Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!

  • Greetings!

Here's a little bit about me.  The 2020-2021 school year will be my fourth year at Silsbee High School.  I have a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science in Mathematics from Lamar University.  I have taught Algebra I, Algebra I Math Lab, Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, Calculus, Stats and Risk Management, and Algebraic Reasoning at the secondary education level and Developmental Mathematics, Precalculus, and Calculus I at the higher education level.  I currently teach Pre-AP Geometry, AP Calculus BC, and Dual Credit MATH 1314 and MATH 1342.  My education experience includes two years at Lumberton High School, one and a half years at Lamar Institute of Technology, two years at Lamar University, and three years at West Orange-Stark High School.

Unfortunately, I will be unable to start the new academic school year with you.  I will be on maternity for the first few weeks of school.

Please check out my Course Codes page for the codes to join Google Classroom and Remind.  I will have video lessons and assignments posted in Google Classroom for Pre-AP Geometry and AP Calculus BC.  MATH 1314 and MATH 1342 will have video lessons and assignments posted in Blackboard.

I can be contacted at kimberly.herrera@silsbeeisd.org or by calling the high school front desk.
