All Silsbee ISD Students to Receive Free Meals in 2025–2026 School Year

July 16, 2025 – Silsbee ISD is proud to share that all students will receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day during the 2025–2026 academic year. This initiative reflects the district’s ongoing commitment to supporting student health and well-being.

“This program allows us to meet a basic need for every student, so they can focus on learning,” said Kelsey Johnson, Director of Communications. “It’s one more way we’re investing in the success of our students and families.”

Silsbee ISD secured eligibility through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a federal program funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). CEP allows qualified school districts to offer meals at no cost to families, removing financial and logistical barriers to student nutrition.

After qualifying for CEP during the 2023–2024 school year, Silsbee ISD acted quickly to submit all required documentation to the state. This proactive approach ensures that every student has access to daily meals, reinforcing the district’s mission to support the whole child, both inside and outside the classroom.
