Cassie Balla named Silsbee Chamber of Commerce 'Teacher of the Year'

August 13, 2024 - During the Silsbee ISD Convocation Celebration, we had the distinct pleasure of honoring Silsbee High School educator Cassie Balla as the 2024 Silsbee Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Balla has been a dedicated and inspiring presence in our district for decades, impacting countless students' lives with her passion for teaching and unwavering commitment to their success.

Her dedication extends beyond the classroom, where she has become a pillar of the Silsbee ISD community, embodying the values of excellence, compassion, and perseverance. Mrs. Balla’s influence has shaped generations of students, leaving a lasting legacy in our schools.

For 25 years, this has been a pillar of strength and dedication to the Silsbee community. As the department chair and a mentor to numerous teachers, she has consistently demonstrated a positive attitude and built strong relationships with students and colleagues alike. Her commitment extends beyond the classroom; she actively engages parents and community business partners, hosting opportunities to brainstorm ideas for the future of her students. Her involvement ensures that her students are prepared for life beyond Silsbee High School.

In collaboration with Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT), she has enhanced the program opportunities available to students, further solidifying her investment in their futures. Her influence is felt long after students leave the halls of SHS, as she continues to be a resource and mentor for many. Her career is a testament to her unwavering dedication to the Silsbee Independent School District.

She began her career as the Director at All Faiths Day School in 1999, a position she held until 2005. She then transitioned to Silsbee ISD, taking on the role of Career Technology Education Teacher. In 2022, she became the Department Head, where her leadership and vision have continued to inspire excellence.
