Celebrating Excellence: SHS Junior Earns Spot in All-State Choir
January 11, 2025 – Two Silsbee High School juniors showcased their vocal skills this past Saturday in the highly competitive All-State Choir Finals at Stephen F. Austin State University. Among the achievements, Dairrell Pilgreen secured a coveted spot as the #6 Bass, earning his place in the Texas All-State Choir.
Pilgreen, alongside fellow junior Jaxon Coburn, performed exceptionally well in the competition against dozens of students from across Texas. Both students dedicated countless hours of practice to reach this milestone.
“I am so proud of how hard both students competed this weekend! They’ve put in so many long hours of work to make it this far,” said Kathryn McKeehan, SHS Choir Director.
Dairrell will join the Texas All-State Choir for a performance at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Convention in San Antonio on February 15, 2025.
The entire Silsbee ISD community celebrates the accomplishments of Dairrell and Jaxon. Advancing to the All-State Finals is an incredible achievement, showcasing the hard work, talent, and dedication of these students. Special recognition also goes to Mrs. McKeehan for her support and commitment to her choir students’ success.
Congratulations to Dairrell and Jaxon.
