Eight Singing Tigers Earn Gold at UIL Competition, Advance to State
February 1, 2025 – For the first time in Silsbee High School history, all eight students who competed in the UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest earned gold medals, securing their spots at the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Competition this May.
This milestone is a proud moment for SHS Choir Director Kathryn McKeehan, who expressed her excitement for her students' dedication and achievement.
“Watching these students grow as singers and seeing their hard work pay off at this level is truly incredible. Earning gold at UIL is no small feat, and for all eight to advance to state is a testament to their dedication and talent. I couldn't be prouder of them.” said Kathryn McKeehan, SHS Choir Director.
