SHS Trio Set to Compete with Team USA at Powerlifting World Championships in Ireland

August 23, 2024 — Next stop, Ireland! Three Silsbee High School students have earned the incredible opportunity to represent Team USA at the World Powerlifting Championships (WPC) in Limerick, Ireland. Allison Gremmell, Kenli Sonnier, and Auryana Gilder will join 24 other top athletes, including Olympians, in their quest for medals on the international stage.

Competitions will begin in a couple of days. In total, they will be gone for about eight days.

The trio secured their spots on Team USA after a stellar performance in June at the Amateur American Powerlifting Federation (AAPF) Nationals in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

In true Silsbee fashion, the community came together to give the girls a memorable send-off at the new fire station this morning (08.23.2024), showing their support.
