Silsbee Elementary Celebrates 23 Presidential Award Winners for Academic Excellence

May 2, 2025Silsbee Elementary is proud to announce that 23 outstanding 5th grade students have earned the President's Award for Educational Excellence — one of the highest honors for academic achievement at the elementary level.

To receive this prestigious award, students must meet rigorous criteria. Recipients must maintain an overall “A” average during their entire 4th grade year, as well as an “A” average for the first semester of 5th grade. In addition to high classroom performance, each student must also have achieved a “Mastery” score on at least one STAAR test during their 4th grade year.

Principal Jennifer Dauriac praised the students for their dedication and commitment to learning.

“We are incredibly proud of these students,” Dauriac said. “Earning the President’s Award takes consistent effort, focus, and determination. These young leaders have shown what’s possible when hard work meets high expectations, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate their success.”
