Silsbee Elementary’s Melinda Lowe Named 2025 Wayne A. Reaud Excellence in Education Award Winner

March 4, 2025 - Silsbee ISD is proud to announce that Melinda Lowe has been named a 2025 Wayne A. Reaud Excellence in Education Award winner.

Mrs. Lowe teaches fourth-grade science and is known for her passion for inspiring young minds and making learning an exciting experience for her students. Her dedication to education and commitment to student success have earned her this prestigious recognition.

Each year, only 15 teachers across Southeast Texas receive this award, which honors educators who make a lasting impact in the classroom and in the lives of their students.

Silsbee Elementary Principal Jennifer Dauriac shared her excitement about the recognition. “Mrs. Lowe’s enthusiasm for teaching is contagious. She goes above and beyond to create engaging lessons that ignite curiosity and a love for learning in her students. We are incredibly proud of her and thrilled that she is receiving this well-deserved recognition.”
