Silsbee High School Hosts 2nd Annual Welding Competition and Certification Day

December 13, 2024 - Silsbee High School recently hosted its 2nd Annual Welding Competition and Certification Day, showcasing the impressive skills of its welding students across multiple levels of expertise. The event featured four levels of welding challenges, as well as a cutting competition, providing students with an opportunity to demonstrate their craftsmanship while earning certifications that prepare them for careers in the welding industry.

“This event is a fantastic opportunity for students to put their training to the test and gain certifications that will open doors for them in the workforce,” said Silsbee High School welding instructor John McKeehan. “The level of talent and dedication these students bring is inspiring—it’s what makes this competition so special.”

Level 1: 2F FCAW Fillet Weld on a T-Plate
