Silsbee ISD Students Shine in Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Competition
February 7, 2025 - Several Silsbee ISD students have been recognized for their outstanding artwork in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Competition, earning top honors and the opportunity to have their work displayed at the event.
Silsbee High School:
At SHS, Lillyann Christopher took home Best of Show for her piece, "Aging Beauty." Gold Medals were awarded to Jaden Whisneant for "Beyond the Pasture" and Perla Lazo for "Staring at Pearl."
Edwards-Johnson Memorial Silsbee Middle School:
From EJMSMS, Zoe Harris earned Best of Show for "Storm’s Morning Coffee," while Eva Albritton received a Gold Medal for "Ranger and Storm Cloud."
Their winning pieces will be displayed in the Hayloft Gallery at the NRG Center during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, giving thousands of visitors the chance to admire their artistic talent.
EJMSMS Art Teacher Rose Stark expressed her pride in the students’ hard work and dedication. “These young artists have put so much time and effort into their pieces, and it’s incredible to see their creativity recognized on such a big stage. I couldn’t be prouder of them!”
