Silsbee ISD to Continue Free Breakfast and Lunch Program for All Students During 2026-2027 School Year

June 01, 2026 – Silsbee ISD is pleased to announce that all students will continue to receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day during the 2026-2027 school year. The district is able to provide free meals through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a federal program funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). CEP allows qualifying school districts to offer meals at no cost to families, reducing financial barriers and ensuring students have consistent access to nutritious food throughout the school day. The program ensures every student has access to nutritious meals, helping support both academic success and overall well-being.

"Making sure our students have access to healthy meals is one of the many ways we support their success," said Dr. Gregg Weiss, Superintendent of Silsbee ISD. "When students don't have to worry about whether they'll have breakfast or lunch, they can focus on what matters most which is learning, growing, and reaching their full potential."

Since qualifying for CEP, Silsbee ISD has remained committed to maintaining the program and maximizing resources that directly benefit students and families. By continuing to offer free meals districtwide, Silsbee ISD is helping create an environment where every student is prepared, supported, and ready to learn from the moment they arrive on campus.
