Competing against the top lifters in 4A Division II, the Lady Tigers delivered an outstanding performance, with multiple athletes earning top placements and setting records.

Kalia Ashworth led the charge, securing a first-place finish and setting a new state record in deadlift. Her dominant performance also earned her the titles of 4A DII Best Lifter and Best Heavyweight Lifter, along with a $1,000 scholarship.

The team’s success didn’t stop there:

  • Kenli Sonnier – 4th place
  • Allison Gremmel – 5th place
  • Auryana Gilder – 7th place
  • Jaden Whisneant – 14th place

Silsbee’s powerlifting team has spent months training, pushing their limits in the weight room and on the platform. Their hard work paid off as they competed with confidence, resilience, and determination at the state level.

Head Coach Elijah Jordan expressed his pride in the team’s performance.

"This group of girls is something special," Jordan said. "They put in the work every single day, and it showed at the state meet. Kalia’s performance was incredible, but every one of our lifters played a role in this success. Their dedication, discipline, and competitive spirit set them apart. To bring home a state title is a testament to the kind of athletes we have here in Silsbee."

With a state championship secured, the Lady Tigers have solidified their legacy in Silsbee High School athletics. Their season was filled with grit and determination, and their performance at state will be remembered for years to come.
