Two more SHS Patient Care Tech students pass exam, 100% pass rate for 2024 class

March 26, 2024 - The last two students in the Patient Care Tech Program at Silsbee High School have passed their certification exams. Dwight Pitts and Desiray Rodriguez also passed with a score over 400, surpassing the National average for this course as did their peers before them.

The test is designed to evaluate proficiency in essential healthcare skills, comprises five modules covering patient care, infection control, safety and security, phlebotomy, and EKG. Students demonstrated their knowledge and competence during the two-hour test, showcasing their preparedness for real-world healthcare scenarios.

The seven students who took the test on Monday, March 11, 2024 include:

With the recent certification attainment by our latest cohort of students, our school year's pass rate has reached 100%. The achievement of these nine individuals exemplifies the program's dedication to delivering high-quality education and equipping students with the skills needed to meet the standards of the healthcare industry.

Heather Wiggins, Health Science Instructor, has two more students schedule to test on March 25, 2024. The continued success of the Health Science Program's participants emphasizes the program's effectiveness and Mrs. Wiggins commitment to producing highly qualified healthcare professionals.
