SHS nursing students pass certifications

Four are successful with a 100 percent pass rate.

MARCH 11, 2020–Students enrolled in the Certified Nursing Assistant Program at Silsbee High School have officially passed certifications on Tuesday, March 10, 2020.

CNA Students

Students Marcus Majalca, Lorena Gutierrez, Colby Watts, and Sydnie Callaway traveled to Houston to take the state certification tests.

To succeed, students must take a written test as well as demonstrate five random skills in front of an evaluator. All students successfully passed both written and skills portions of the exams with a 100 percent pass rate.

This is Silsbee's third consecutive year to receive this achievement. 

The instructor for the CNA program at Silsbee High School is Heather Wiggins, BSN-RN.
