APRIL 27, 2021 – Silsbee Independent School District is proud to announce Tiffany Horton as principal of Laura Reeves Primary, made official by Superintendent Dr. Gregg Weiss on Monday, April 26.

Horton had been serving as associate principal of the campus since June 2020 under the flagship of Silsbee Elementary administration.

“We’re excited for the opportunity and the enthusiasm that Ms. Horton brings to Silsbee ISD,” Dr. Gregg Weiss said. “She has been doing a great job in her role, and we felt it was time to make this campus exclusive with its own administration.”

Weiss named Jennifer Fisher as assistant principal of Laura Reeves to start the 2020-2021 school year as a precursor to set up the administration for the campus.

Horton began as associate principal after the retirement of Darlene Watson. Her career in education spans over 13 years, including three years as curriculum coordinator of Beaumont ISD.

She has also served as a Title I Summer School Administrator, Instructional Coach, Campus Testing/RTI Coordinator, Curriculum Writer, PD Facilitator and a teacher ranging in grades kindergarten through fourth grades.

Horton is a graduate of Lamar University where she earned a bachelor’s in interdisciplinary studies, and later earned a master’s in professional counseling.

She is a native of Newton, Texas.
