Triumphant Graduates: SHS Seniors Achieve Remarkable $1.42 Million in Scholarship Awards

May 22, 2023 – As the 2022-2023 school year starts winding down, Silsbee High School Seniors are closing chapters on several events before graduations. One of those events is Scholarships Night. More than $1.42 million was awarded to a third of the senior class.

Some of the big awards of the night included four $96,000 scholarships for Robert Barton III, Jenny Tu, Daegyn Voisin and Jaron Williams from Lamar University. Also, Marc Gutierrez was awarded the Presidential Merit Scholarship from St. Edwards University toaling $88,000. Sydnee McGrue was awarded the A.B. Barret Academic Award from Abilene Christian University. Max and Mason Brisbane were awarded the Mary Hardin Scholarship totaling $45,000 each and

Wellborn Fuller was awarded the Distinction Award from Baylor University totaling $48,000.
