Silsbee Independent School District establishes partnership with the new Silsbee Education Foundation
SEPTEMBER 28, 2021 – Silsbee ISD partners with newly established Silsbee Education Foundation to help support innovative teaching and programs that enhance the quality of educational experiences for Silsbee ISD students.
An Education Foundation for Silsbee ISD has been in the works since Superintendent Dr. Gregg Weiss came on board in 2019.
“I’m extremely excited about the partnership with the newly established Silsbee Education Foundation. As superintendent, it has been one of my priority goals to help facilitate the development of this foundation to create a partnership between the school and community that will benefit the students and teachers of Silsbee ISD for years to come," said Dr. Gregg Weiss, SISD Superintendent.
Student's needs are growing and our teachers have innovative ideas and projects that cannot always be funded through school resources. This is where the Silsbee Education Foundation can step in to help.
The Foundation works to provide funds for innovative and creative educational programs and activities which may not been funded by the normal operating budget. These funds are used to support student achievement and skill development, to recognize and encourage staff excellence and to expand community involvement from individuals, businesses and civic organizations.
"I want to thank the outstanding community and business leaders who have graciously committed their personal time to making this goal a reality and helping Silsbee ISD be the best it can be,” said Dr. Weiss.
The Board of Directors was finalized at Monday night’s board meeting. The foundation is made up of community leaders, attorneys and businesses all working together to strengthen the quality of education at Silsbee ISD.
