Megan Greenwood, Senior, 4th Year Member, 1st Lieutenant

What were your motives to audition for the Tigerettes?

I’ve always danced at a dance studio, but when Tigerette tryouts came around I decided to explore new styles of dance and become involved in a popular school activity.

How did you feel when you made Tigerettes?

I felt excited to finally be a member of SHS Tigerettes after hoping for so long. I also felt relieved because I was nervous the entire week.

Yes, at the time of my first tryout I had been dancing in a studio for 10 years, and 1 ½ years on a Stars Drill Team.

Yes, I was a member my 7th grade year and the 1st Lieutenant for half my 8th grade year.

What is your favorite genre or style of dance?

I love jazz dances. We typically only do jazz during spring show/competition season, but it’s my favorite because it’s very girly, sassy, and it has advanced levels of technique.

What is your favorite routine? Why?

My favorite 2015-2016 routine is a jazz routine called Revolution! I like it because it’s very high energy, very technical, and super sassy.

What is your favorite part of being on Tigerettes?

My favorite part of being on Tigerettes is performing. Performing gives me such a thrill. Not only because it’s fun and exciting, but hearing the crowd’s reaction is always satisfying.

How do you prepare before you perform?

I always make sure I stretch my body really well, and shake off all my nerves. I also listen to music that gives me energy and gets me excited!

How do you feel under the Friday Night Lights?

The Friday Night Lights feel like home. I always get a rush of adrenaline before performing for the crowd, but on the field and off the field I just feel so happy and blessed to be spending my short time in high school supporting our Tigers.

Who on the team, adult or not, has impacted your life?
